Highland Trip, First Stop.

Jul 8, 2019

Enjoyed this trip. Managed to have 4 stops along the way. No photos of inverness, just a quick rest. Stopped at Luss first, but had to run from those darn midges! I swear I still feel them now. Next stop was just a parking area, where the view was amazing. I think I am a target for those midges, so made a quick escape. 3rd stop at Glencoe was nice. Beautiful place and the bacon rolls were the way I like em. Wanted the midge repellent, so decided to move on earlier to Inverness. Got to my destination and Nairn is a nice town, but struggled to get parked near hotel. Eventually managed to move car right outside, but the parking there is only for 1 hr. They do have an area nearby for hotel guests though. The hotel is bigger than it looks. Thought I was in the Tardis for a second! They have a bar downstairs (I am on top floor), but was shut when I tried earlier. My room is small and does not have an ensuite. I have to go across landing and down a flight of stairs for toilet and shower. Not ideal for someone with diabetes that has to go a couple of times a night!! For 4 nights it cost £140, so cant complain. Just need a bed, which does feel comfy. Across the road is a pub called Uncle Bob, which is small but good enough. Going to head out and try and find some nice food. 4 nights here, then off to Thurso.
