A turquoise lake with pink flamingos, large sand dunes in changing light and an off-road tour to the Barit mines of Mfis make for wonderful days in and around Erg Chebbi.
Erg Chebbi, the high sand dunes near Merzouga, are in keeping with the cliché of the Sahara. The changes of light and shadow on the dunes create wonderful perspectives. A visit to the bustling market in Rissani completes the trip.
